We love Fiano and were excited to work with another California planting of this beautiful variety. The Bowland Vineyard is located just off of Barns Road in the Russian River Valley. It is a 1.5 acre planting that is meticulously cared for by vineyard manger and owner Chris Bowland. Fiano is one of Italy’s truly great white wines. It is quite structured for a white wine benefiting from aging for several years.
The 2020 Fiano was whole-cluster pressed to neutral french oak. The Fiano completed both primary and malo-lactic fermentation with native yeast and bacteria. It saw 10 months in barrel before bottling.
A deep yellow color, this fiano has pretty aromas of yellow pear, wet rocks and white flowers. The wine has a generous texture and bright freshness with juicy and floral flavors of citrus blossom and honey.
