This wine was made from a very special and historic planting of Semillon on Moon Mountain AVA, dating back to over 130 years ago.
The Semillon was whole cluster pressed, settled clean, and fermented without inoculation in neutral barrels. The wine underwent a spontaneous malolactic fermentation and was then aged in barrel for 10 months prior to bottling.
The Semillon shows beautiful honeyed fruit with citrus zest and bees wax. The charm of this wine is the incredible concentration provided by the tiny yield from these ancient vines. The wine is deep and complex and will develop over many years.
